So, what is there to do after you hit lvl 90?
At lvl 90 the rep quest lines in the Summer Terrace, Vale of Eternal Blossoms open up. They are on the ground floor. As of patch 5.2 you can now gain reputation by some factions by completing work orders via your farm. You have to be exaulted with the Tillers in order to gain ownership of Sunsong Ranch and you have to have the dailies open for the faction in order to do their work order. Also added in 5/2 is the option to gain rep each day by your first heroic & scenario. Simply open your rep tab and check the star to the left of the faction you wish to get bonus rep with. If you want to change the faction you get the rep with just click a new star. Some factions you can not get rep this way with.
Kirin Tor Offensive/Sunreaver Onslaught - New daily hubs on Isle of Thunder. (yay more daily quests! >_> ) You will automatically get the quest for this upon loging in as a lvl 90. (perhaps also as soon as you hit 90) It doesn't appear to have a ilvl restriction. Though you may want to group with someone if your ilvl is lower.
The Tillers - This factions allows you to plant and harvest your own crops. Crops you grow are used in cooking as well as daily quests to raise your rep with the Tillers. When you are exaulted with the Tillers you will gain access to mounts and cooking recipes. Quests take place in Valley of the Four Winds. Additionally, there are members of the Tillers that you can gain as friends. When you gain "best friend" status, you will get something on your farm or a gift mailed to you. Make sure to make friends with Sho b/c she send you a Red Cricket pet.
The Lorewalkers - This factions expands your Archeology experience in Pandaria. There is now a Daily quest which you can turn in 1 Pandarian Artifact for 5 valor. More Archeology info. You can also buy crates of other artifacts pieces, such as Night Elf. If you travel around Pandaria and find all of the lore objects not only will you become exalted with the Lorewalkers, you will get the Red Flying Cloud mount. Quartermaster is in the Mogu'shan Palace, Vale of the Eternal Blossoms. He is on the top floor.
The August Celestials - This factions provides 489 boots, gloves and bracers for valor points as well as two serpent mounts Reins of the Thundering August Cloud Serpent and Reins of the Thundering Ruby Cloud Serpent, 28 slot bag pattern for Tailors & the "expensive" bracer enchants for enchanters. Quartermaster is in the Summer Terrace, Vale of the Eternal Blossoms. Go to the quartermaster and he will send you to one of the 3 temples; Black Ox, Cradle of Chi-Ji or White Tiger. That is where the dailys will be for that day.
The Order of the Cloud Serpent - This faction allows you to hatch, raise and train your own Cloud Serpent! The quests for this faction in found in the Arboretum in the Jade Forest. After you complete a couple of the quests you are able to pick which color serpent you want green, blue or yellow. The dailys seem to tie in with your secondary professions. I was able to do first aid, cooking and fishing quest b/c my skill was high enough. Quartermaster is also in the Arboretum. Rep with this faction also gains you access to JC Jade Panther, Sunstone Panther, Ruby Panther, Onyx Panther & Sapphire Panther designs; racing finish line, floating finish line, racing flag, floating racing flag, cloud ring your flying pet can fly through; Reigns of the Azure Cloud Serpent, Reigns of the Golden Cloud Serpent & Reigns of the Jade Cloud Serpent. When you become exalted the hatchling you picked becomes your mount & you can buy the other 2 colors form the quartermaster.
The Anglers - Gains you access to a goldfish pet, an azure water strider mount and a fishing raft! o_O You can also buy a dragon fishing pole or a Pandarian that is made out of bamboo. And who wouldn't want Nat Pagle's hat?? Quartermaster is in Angler's Warf, Krasarang Wilds. Dailys award +1 fishing, 1 Valor and most do not require you to fish.
The Shado-Pan - This faction makes 489 valor helms, trinkets, cloaks & 3 riding tigers: blue, green & red available to you. Enchanters will be able to buy 3 "expensive: weapon enchants. You can also buy a Shado-Pan replica helm so that you can transmog your helm to look like the ones they have. Quartermaster is in the Shado-Pan Garrison, Townlong Steeps. The quests are also in the Townlong Steeps. You have to become revered with the Golden Lotus before you can become honored-exalted with the Shado-Pan.
The Golden Lotus - This faction gains access to 489 shoulder, chest & rings. You can also buy 3 crane mounts from them, Azure, Gold & Regal. They also have J476 Tailor & LW plans. You have to get revered with Golden Lotus to be able to continue gaining Shado-Pan reputation. After you have reached exalted there are a couple more quests. Make sure you do them to get a 489 neck.
The Klaxxi - This faction gains access to 489 legs, neck & wrist armor as well as all of the BS plans. You will need lots of Kyparite to buy them. As well as 463 weapons. (these are probably just intended for transmog b/c by the time you get the rep up you will have something better) At reveared you can also purchase the Reigns of the Amber Scorpion. The quests for this rep are in the Dread Wastes. You have to awaken all of the Klaxxi Paragons in order to do the daily quests. You will also get a 489 ring from the last quest after you have become exalted.
Operation Shieldwall - This is a new faction in patch 5.2. You will gain access to 496 ring, waist, boots & trinket. You will automatically get the quests that starts this chain when you go to the Shrine of 7 Stars as long as you are 90. The good thing about this faction is that there are 3 hubs in Karasarang Wilds and it changes daily as to which you do. Also, even though this is now a PVP area, you do not have to do any PVP. But if you want a chance at a Blood Soaked Invitation and some good Black Prince Rep, Killing the Horde (Alliance) rare mobs at each base makes it it a little more challenging.
What it boils down to -
This is a significant amount of dailys. Most give you 5 Valor for completing them & 2 lesser charms of good fortune. This is a nice change of pace for dailys. So if you get sick of dungeons you can go do quests for valor and vice versa. Plus, unlike in Cata, doing dailys also gains access to certain mounts. 10 mounts total so far and 2 pets. I would recommend starting with Shieldwall & Golden Lotus. The only ones that you should bring up to exalted are Klaxxi & Golden Lotus. You get 2 pieces of 489 gear from quests with them. All the others you only really have to get to revered to have access to all of the valor gear.
Thank you for the great write up, as a JCer I now know that doing my bug man dailies (Klaxxi) hasn't been a wate of time so far (Been 90 for a whopping 3 days)
